THE BUFADORA

La Bufadora is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ensenada. The marine geyser is located 35 km south of the city and the resulting phenomenon of “spitting” water is produced by the waves of the sea that, when sneaking through an underwater canyon, forcefully expel the water through a crack, causing an explosion of water and air that can reach up to thirty meters in height. The resulting noise gives its name to the Bufadora, which according to legend is due to the jet of a gray whale calf trapped between the rocks and turned into stone. During your visit we recommend you taste the traditional sugary churros and the coconuts prepared with fruit and seafood.

NATIONAL PARKS

One of the most surprising national parks in Mexico, here you’ll find Picacho del Diablo, a mountain that reaches up to 3,100 meters above sea level. You can camp or rent a cabin here, visit their museum, go hiking or mountain cycling, observe flora and fauna, and the opportunity to see the Observatorio Astronomico Nacional (National Astronomic Observatory). Don’t forget to take your camera!
